About the artist…..
I currently work exclusively in oils for the flexibility of the medium and the intensity and subtlety of colour. My aim is to balance technical accuracy and detail with an artistic sense of time and place and in the motor racing paintings my style is evolving to try and capture the essence of the speed and the brutal power of the sport.
After retiring from a career as a chartered engineer, I am now in a position to indulge my love of painting and combine it with my lifelong interests in all forms of transport by land, sea and air. However my greatest passion is for Formula 1 and sports car motor racing, especially on the classic road circuits of Europe and the world, in the days when the spectator could get close to the action, something I now work to recapture in paint on canvas.
I have exhibited at a wide variety of galleries and other venues including motor museums and race circuits and my work has sold throughout the UK and overseas.
